Linda Kelly, founder of ONF met Connie Riecke and Deb Conrad, founders of Marine Corps Family Foundation (MCFF) in 2004 at a Marine Parent Conference. These three Marine mothers, like many other military parents have had missions of their own to help our Troops, Wounded Warriors, Fallen Heroes and/or Military Families. Today, MCFF and ONF affiliate as independent 501(c) (3) foundations each making great strides to their missions. ONF is proud to promote MCFF in their commitment to our Troops and their families.
While ONF creates public recognition for our Troops and military families through advertising, MCFF works from the inside supporting our service members and their families through the administration of fulfilling and heartfelt projects.
MCFF first launched Operation Santa in 2004 sending out more than 6,000 filled Christmas stockings and gifts to Marines spending the holidays away from their loved ones. Since then, an additional 35,000 deployed Marines and other Troops have received Operation Santa packages. The program continues to grow each year adding to Santa’s list... wounded troops recovering at Walter Reed, Brooke, and Balboa Medical Centers. Other projects include Operation Marine Corps Kids where families of new military babies during times of deployment receive handmade gifts. MCFF creates tangible reminders that America supports not only the Troops but also their families. Check out more MCFF projects and events at Marine Corps Family Foundation.
